You head into a cave, turn a corner, and can barely make out the next block. Raising the brightness helps a little, but the darker parts of the world still make exploring awkward on a phone screen.

Mojo Launcher Night Vision is a way to give that setup a brighter view. The download on this page is a Minecraft Java resource pack that uses OptiFine's custom lightmaps. Add it to the game profile you launch through MojoLauncher or MJLauncher, activate it, and test it in a familiar dark area.

The supplied file is named NightVision_1.13+.zip. It is a small resource pack, so keep it as a ZIP when installing. Unlike a controls bundle, you do not need to extract its contents first.

What Does Mojo Launcher Night Vision Do?

Mojo Launcher Night Vision replaces lightmap images used to display lighting in the Overworld, Nether, and End. Its bright lightmaps help darker areas appear easier to see when the game is using the required OptiFine features.

This is a visual resource pack. It does not add a potion to your inventory or place light sources in your world. Keep using torches and other lighting where your gameplay needs them; an area looking brighter does not mean you have actually lit it.

Before You Install It

If your base game is not running yet, use our first-launch guide to test a normal world before adding OptiFine or a resource pack.

The instructions for Mojo Launcher Night Vision require OptiFine and say to turn shaders off. Start with a Minecraft Java profile that already runs correctly in Mojo Launcher, then use an OptiFine version made for that same Minecraft version.

The 1.13+ label is the pack's file name, rather than a promise that every future Minecraft release will handle it the same way. Check the Resource Packs screen and test the effect in the profile you actually use.

Why Use Night Vision With Mojo Launcher?

See Dark Areas More Clearly

A brighter view can make it easier to follow a cave passage or see the shape of a dark room on a small screen. Try the pack somewhere you already know so you can compare the change before taking it into a longer exploration session.

Keep the Download Simple

The file is a small ZIP resource pack. Put it in your game's resourcepacks folder and activate it in Minecraft. There is no separate Android APK to install for this download.

Use It With Your Chosen Profile

Profiles can have different game directories and resource packs. Add Mojo Launcher Night Vision to the profile you want to play, so you can keep another profile's look and settings separate.

Switch Back Whenever You Want

You can disable the pack from Minecraft's Resource Packs menu and return to your usual lighting. This is handy when you want a brighter view for one session and the normal atmosphere for another.

How to Install Mojo Launcher Night Vision

  1. Download the Night Vision pack using the button above. Keep the file as a ZIP.
  2. Open MojoLauncher or MJLauncher and choose the Minecraft Java profile you want to use.
  3. Make sure that profile has a compatible OptiFine installation. Test that the game starts normally before adding the pack.
  4. Open that profile's game folder using the launcher's folder tools or a file manager with access to it.
  5. Copy the downloaded ZIP into the resourcepacks folder inside that game directory. If needed, create a folder with that exact name.
  6. Launch Minecraft and go to Options → Resource Packs.
  7. Move Night Vision into the selected pack list, place it above other packs that change lighting, and confirm with Done.
  8. Turn shaders off, let the resources reload, and test the result in a dark area.

Use the resourcepacks folder belonging to the selected profile. If you put the ZIP in another profile's folder, it may not appear in the game you just opened.

Using Forge or Fabric

If your profile uses Forge, choose an OptiFine release compatible with both the Minecraft version and that Forge setup. Avoid mixing files meant for different game versions just because their names look similar.

The included installation guide lists OptiFine with OptiFabric for a Fabric setup. Use that route only where matching versions are available and compatible with your profile. The pack itself does not install OptiFine, a loader, or the compatibility mod for you.

You can check the OptiFine download page for the game version you use. Start with a working profile and add the resource pack after that, rather than changing several parts of your setup at once.

If Mojo Launcher Night Vision Does Not Work

If the pack is missing from Resource Packs, check its location first. The ZIP should be directly inside the correct resourcepacks folder. Avoid placing it inside another ZIP or a second folder with the same pack name.

If the pack appears but the game still looks dark, check that you launched the OptiFine profile and activated the pack. In OptiFine's video settings, make sure Custom Colors is enabled, turn shaders off, and reload the resource packs.

Another active pack may replace the same lightmaps. Move Night Vision above it or briefly disable the other lighting pack while comparing the result. If the problem only happens with one renderer, compare your existing renderer settings in a working profile before changing the whole installation.

If Minecraft reports that a pack is incompatible, check the game and OptiFine versions before forcing it to load. Keep a working profile available while you try a different combination.

How to Remove Mojo Launcher Night Vision

Open Options → Resource Packs, move Night Vision out of the selected list, and confirm. You can leave the ZIP in the folder for another time or remove it after disabling it. Your worlds remain separate from the resource pack.

The supplied pack credits cartenavigom. The download keeps the original pack files and installation guide.
